Citizen Eco-Drive Men's Titanium Perpetual Calendar Watch #BL5345-59H

Citizen Eco-Drive Men's Titanium Perpetual Calendar Watch #BL5345-59H

I will "third" the motion that this watch looks much better in real life than it does in the photos. Not sure where Amazon got it's photos from, but there are better stock photos out there.

To the complainers about slow "2nd timezone" setting: I don't think the feature is really meant for one to say "oh, I wonder what time it is in India", and switch to L-TM mode. I think it is for when you travel. You can set the destination timezone as the L-TM time, and then switch to it easily when you get there, and switch easily back when you get home. And it takes around 2 minutes at most to set, possibly 2.5 for worst case scenario. I timed it, and to switch ahead 12 hours it took 1 minute 15 seconds.

Where this slowness *does* get annoying, at least for me, is when setting the alarm time. I've had another Citizen with the same movement, and it was the same way. It's just an annoyance that you have to get used to with this watch movement.

Some Pros not mentioned yet:
* Tachymeter - Yeah! More watches should have these
* In chronograph mode, the large second hand becomes the second hand for the chrono
* Crystal may not be sapphire but it does have a hard sound when tapped with fingernail
* Tiny reflective surfaces around the hour markers and subdials give it a slight silvery "bling" look

Some Cons not mentioned:
* Can't switch away from chrono mode while timing or chrono will reset! - Worst feature by far
* Timer bezel clicks in whole minute increments instead of much preferred 1/2 minute.
* No indication of charge level until it gets down to the danger point.
* Requires rigorous reset and 0-calibration of the hands if charge ever completely runs out.

That last one is standard for all computer-controlled watches, and not a problem at all for me, but could be for some people, especially those prone to losing their manuals. :') Not only do the hands have to be set back to their zero points, but the date has to be set back to 1. Then you can begin setting the watch to the current date & time. The previous posters didn't mention this crucial step to using the watch. Save your manual. It's naive to think that your watch will never run out of juice!

Now here's a mystery for those who own the watch: What is that red "warning" indicator just past the "5" position? It is not mentioned in the manual. The manual talks of "insufficient charge warning" indication, but that is the "charge" indicator between the 3 and the 4. It progresses from there to "stop" (just past the 4) when power depletes to critical, and from there to "set" (just before the 5) after being exposed to enough light to set the watch. The manual calls this the "time setting warning indication", and means you need to set the date & time. So what is "warning" for? My watch came stopped, with the second hand pointing to "warning". A little sunlight and I was able to do the all-clear, calibrate, and set. Just wondering what it was warning me about.

I'm going to reiterate what one poster said about removing links in the band. There are tiny cylindrical sleeves - one per link - that slide into one side of a link and create the friction that holds the pin in place. If you don't have that in place, the pin won't stay. Also, be sure to shove the pins back in, in the opposite direction that you took them out. (You take them out in the direction of the arrow.)

I like the fact that the upper-right subdial shows both minutes *and* 1/20 seconds in chrono mode. Efficient use of space. Too bad the 24 hour dial doesn't switch to 24 hours of chronograph timing. This *is* a computer-controlled watch, isn't it? The chrono should maintain its value, between modes, and use the 24 hour dial to time up to 24 hours. Are you listening, Citizen? :')

All in all, I'd recommend it if you can live with the limited chrono and the slow time adjustment. (6.25 seconds to move the time ahead 1 hour). If you can't live with it, Citizen have other Eco-drive watches that do not have that limitation. Computer-controlled watches without a second hand should not have that limitation.

Citizen Men's Eco-Drive Chronograph Watch #AT0550-03A

Citizen Men's Eco-Drive Chronograph Watch #AT0550-03A

This is my third Citizen watch and I am very happy with all of them. Citizen watches are very high quality for the price range and I have yet to be disappointed.

The Amazon picture of this watch doesn't do it justice, it looks much more stunning in person. The face is darker than it appears in the picture, its a dark silver/grey color which works very well with the silver border and black band. I also really like the blue accents of the chronograph hand and the 24 on the 24 hour dial.

Face size is just about the same as every others men's watch out there. Large but not exaggerated like some newer watches tend to be. Like all Citizen watches it does have some heft due to the Eco-Drive. Not particularly noticeable unless you really want a light watch.

The band is made of a thick, stiff leather that feels very durable. Feels to be a higher quality band than on a Swiss Army watch I have in a similar price range. The white threading on the band looks good, it compliments the face and band quite nicely.

Extremely easy to set just like any other basic watch. The 24 dial makes setting the date slightly easier.

If a chronograph is important to you this isn't really the watch to get. If I wanted exact measurements I would get a digital watch. The chronograph is handy, but obviously don't expect the precision you would get with a digital. I do not particularly like the the buttons to control it. They are kind of soft in that you don't get in any sort of click to know that its depressed. Not a big deal, and I got this watch for it's looks, not the stop watch.

Eco-Drive is great. I am someone who usually wears a watch for 2 years and then lets it sit for the next 2 years until I get around to getting the battery replaced. With the Eco-Drive I sometimes keep my watches charged by putting them under a fluorescent bulb at night if I am not wearing them frequently. Not that it's really needed. I had one Citizen watch lose it's charge after sitting in the dark for 2 weeks. When I went to wear it and saw the time had stopped I just went outside and let the sunlight hit it for 30 seconds and it started right back up. Usually with my watches they get enough charge from daily use to keep their charge for days to weeks. Besides that one time, losing power has never been a problem for me.

I highly recommend this watch.

Citizen Men's Eco-Drive Promaster SST Titanium Watch #JW0030-55E

Citizen Men's Eco-Drive Promaster SST Titanium Watch #JW0030-55E

I fell in love with this watch when I saw an ad for it on a big billboard. The watch face looks awesome. I immediately put it on my wish list and the very next day saw an Amazon third party seller (dexclusive) running a promotion for it for 8 (normal price is > 0). I did not hesitate to pull the trigger and order it.

I love big/complicated looking watches and this fits my nerdy needs perfectly. It even comes with a CD with an instruction manual (that's how complicated it is!!). But I had no problems setting it up with the help of the quick-guide that comes in the box (I still haven't opened the CD).

This particular item is all titanium based and, of course, it's eco-drive so no need for batteries...ever.

I have uploaded 2 pictures that I shot of the watch in the product's main page.

Selling Your Old Rolex Watch

Sell a Rolex watch, especially if it's an old song, is sometimes painful to its owners. This is particularly true if the owner has a long history with the show. Separation requires great courage and determination. It is therefore important to ensure that once you decide to get rid of the shows, you get a good price for him.

There are several factors that must be taken into account in the sale of pre-owned Rolex watch. An important element is the narrow band. Atight group usually brings in more money than look older, worn, loose tape. The state line is also essential. Remember that the dials are original deal valued more than renovated. This assessment is true even if the original part is not in great shape.

Of course, the materials used in your Rolex will be taken into consideration. Most buyers generally look for watches in white gold or yellow, 14k or 18k, platinum, and even stainless steel. Also, take notethat buyers pay a premium if you have the original box and papers with the timepiece.

So how exactly do you sell a Rolex watch? Well, a Rolex watch is not something most people can afford. It would be unwise to limit yourself to your community when it comes to selling Rolex watches. In this regard, here are some options you might consider:

eBay - many people underestimate the potential of eBay. It is very possible to sell Rolex watches and other jewelry items at aa reasonable price on the site. Make sure you know all the details on the protection of sellers before joining.
Local dealer of good reputation - the dealers are usually the first choice among the sellers of Rolex. Most buyers can provide immediate liquidity needs. Doing business with local distributors is a proven way to sell your Rolex. However, you might not necessarily get the best price from them.
Reputable online merchants - Sell Online shows an online dealer of good reputation will open many opportunitiesfor you. For example, it is possible to obtain a higher price in these transactions because the Internet is a competitive market.

Original Rolex parts are buyers looking for main factor when buying pre-owned timepieces. Add-on dials, glasses or other accessories that are not from Rolex will not help you get a higher price. It does not depend much if your Rolex is in working condition.

Although it has not been functional for some time, buyers will acceptespecially if they are in the business. After all, they are professionals and are able to run again. Ultimately, original and authentic Rolex watch will get the best price for you. Just make sure to go to a legitimate buyer for your protection and profit.
